St. Augustine/St.Edward parishes are embarking on a Vision process. We want to here from you with any ideals you have to better build and enhance our faith life. Please submit any ideals to this webpage related to: Believe: how do we need to better form and educate our parishioners on what we believe; Celebrate: how can we enhance the celebration of our beliefs especially in our Sacramental Life; Live: how do we need to better encourage and support one another in living a christian moral life; Grow: how can we assist each other in growing in relationship with God (our prayer life). Please, we want to hear from you.

St. Edward Catholic Church was established by decree of Pope John XXIII in 1960 and was named St. Edward's in honor of Monsignor Edward Devlin, who for many years served as the only priest in Austin. Rev. Dan Corcoran arrived in July 1960; the first weekday mass was soon held in the basement of Sterling State Bank, the first Sunday mass was held in the Sterling Theater. The existing church was completed in May 1963 and was dedicated by Diocese of Winona Bishop Edward Fitzgerald. In 2003, St. Edwards was clustered with the parish of St. Augustine with Rev. Joseph Fogal serving as pastor. Today, the parish of St. Edward is served by over 400 families and individuals, some of which are the original charter members.

The Vision of the Austin Catholic Community:   We are a Catholic Faith community, united as stewards to build the kingdom of God through worship and ministry.

Mission Statement:  St. Augustine and St. Edward, as partners in an intergenerational faith community, are committed to sharing the ministry of Jesus through liturgy, education and social outreach.
